An open directory project, called “catalog of the web”. Contains a very comprehensive directory. The database is a widely distributed base of web content for health, medicine, and surgery information that is on the internet. It has been put together by volunteers who are experts in the various fields. They cull out bad and useless sites, and keep the good ones. The core directory contains all major search engines such as AOL, Netscape, Google, Lycos, and hundreds more.Of particular interest re' surgery is the patient education link containing information on cosmetic and plastic surgery, which includes liposuction, and complications that may result.. The Institute for Plastic Surgery in NY and NJ offers monthly topics on fitness, nutrition and plastic surgery, Johns Hopkins Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery offers comprehensive information about cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, a link called Neobodies is a resource dealing with plastic surgery, diet, nutrition, exercise, and alternative medicine, plus other very interesting links.
