You are a member of an interdisciplinary team in your state's rural area. The team is looking into improving the health status of the community. The community has a high rate of cancer (particularly breast and lung), accidents (farm related), alcohol abuse, particularly among teens, and obesity (adults, but with increasing weight gain in children).

The interdisciplinary team is composed of two RNs (one who works in the local hospital, and you, the only school nurse in the area), one physician in private practice, the hospital administrator, the mayor of the largest town in the area, and a clergyman.

1:  Describe how you think the team should approach these problems based on what you have learned in this chapter.
