Tina is a 17 year-old Puerto Rican who has relocated to Houston, Texas with both her parents. Her mother is very quiet and reserved and does not speak or understand English very well, Spanish is her primary language. Her mother becomes ill and Tina takes her to the local emergency room. Tina fills out her mother's paperwork due to the language barrier and her mother appears to be ashamed for seeking help but is experiencing excruciating abdominal pain, right side.
